My favorite part about Coinbase is that the company is consistently able to hear and respond to things that aren't going well.
Whether it's using data to drive product decisions, increasing engineering quality, or making the organization more inclusive, I've regularly seen Coinbase make massive cultural overhauls in a matter of weeks and months, leaving the organization in a much healthier place.
We definitely don't always get things right the first time, but I have full confidence that we're constantly moving in the right direction.
I think this culture really comes from the top -- Brian does an amazing job asking for feedback and then acting on it.
Just recently, he sent out his personal goals for 2018 to the whole company, and at the end of last year, he sent out his full 360 review to everyone, along with what he was doing to improve.
This leadership flows through him, to the exec team, to managers, to ICs; it's really awesome to see.
Coinbase is growing really fast -- this means communication can sometimes be a challenge.
