Free (for the most part) services including cable, internet, and phone, good benefits, matching 401k, employee stock purchase plan. If you know the right people or get the attention of the right people, you can get work that is challenging, which I see as a good thing (the challenging part).
Sub-par supervisors and management. It is not easy to advance. They have unrealistic daily metrics. It is hard to get noticed unless you are greatly exceeding your daily goals. They don't look at your qualifications to utilize your skills in other areas but only utilize you for the position you were hired for, even if you could be helping the company out in a big way.
If (a big if) they use you for other tasks and projects, you are not compensated for the loss of commissions while doing other work. They utilize agents to act as supervisors (because the sups are never around to support their agents) but do not pay or recognize them for this.
Take a look at the qualifications of your employees and ask them how they would like to see their career path evolve. Work with your employees to create a career path and help them realize their goals.
You have many agents working for you that have much more to offer than just taking phone calls of angry, drunk customers. There are some employees that can do great things for the call center in which they work and the company as a whole.
Take note of these people, let them help you, and compensate them for it. Stop putting people into positions of power—sups, managers, directors—who don't know what they're doing, cannot speak properly, and/or don't know how to format an email properly.
Supervisors and management are supposed to be your eyes, ears, and extension of what you stand for. They are failing you miserably.
