Entrepreneurial spirit
The LabWeek initiative, conducted twice every year, allows employees to take a full week to ideate, prototype, and present their innovative product to a crowd of industry leaders. Such open platforms that accept and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of employees should become an industry standard.
Highly Technical Mentors and Supportive Managers
There is an abundance of highly technical, but down-to-earth humans in the organization who are willing to go above and beyond their limits to help with any technical queries. Similar is the case with managers; most of them are technically sound, very appreciative of their staff, and always willing to back them, even if something goes way south.
The HR department can be improved. There is scope for improvement in a lot of areas.
One major area is the hiring of new talent. There are widespread complaints about people almost exactly matching the job profile not even being shortlisted for a technical round, and many shortlisted candidates have vastly different skill sets not suitable for the job profile.
Ownership of more projects can be routed to the India office. Although the quality of projects being undertaken in the Indian office can be considered satisfactory, they are still heavily managed from the US offices. End-to-end ownership of projects isn't transferred, even though highly capable architects, managers, and developers are available in the Indian office.
Lack of onsite opportunities. There are currently no options for a transfer to US offices, or even a temporary onsite posting for a few months, which is very disappointing.
