Pros

Work/life balance – but it depends on the organization and the individual style of a manager. Some get lucky; some don’t. Great coworkers.

Cons

Mandatory return to office. For many engineers working with international teams, this makes no sense. It’s a blow to productivity. While there are plenty of “we listen” campaigns, in truth, the Executive Leadership does not care about feedback and pushes its own agenda.

Advice to Management
  1. Senior Executive leadership micromanages everything. There’s very little decision power given even to VPs. Everything has to get a blessing from the very top. It’s a tedious, lengthy, and exhausting process. Please change; you hire professionals but don’t give them any freedom of decision-making.

  2. Once you are in the role, the salary does not get adjusted. Minimal merit increases don’t catch up to inflation. As a result, most loyal long-time employees always make less than all newcomers.

  • Launch automatic salary reviews/adjustments - employees should not be begging for it.
  • In addition, they may not even know how grossly underpaid they are comparing to newly hired folks in the same exact roles.
