Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - Germany

Process

I applied online, and afterward, the recruiter called. They offered me two positions with the same requirements, and I could choose.

After a phone coding interview, I had the on-site interview, which included two coding rounds, two system design rounds, and one behavioral interview. I believe I did well in all of them because the interviews were interactive, I completed the assignments, and I discussed alternatives, proposed extensions, and improvement ideas. The interviewers were very friendly.

In the end, after seven hours of interviews, I heard nothing. I contacted HR and the recruiters who were organizing the interviews. After being passed across multiple recruiters, I was notified that my case was lost between them! Finally, my application was found, and I was assigned to another recruiter.

No news after one week. I reached out to the recruiter and noticed they were on vacation and passed on to another recruiter!

After four weeks of no news, I became really pissed off and withdrew my application.

One of the interviewers from the on-site warned me to be aware because they referred someone, and that person had a terrible experience!

The coordination is really terrible. I feel that I wasted over seven hours of my time, plus preparation!
