Pros
  • Business outlook is good; positive feedback from our members.
  • Transparent communication from ECs.
  • Great work/life balance.
  • Lots of opportunities; it's up to you to get them.
  • Great programs for continued education.
  • Convenient office location.
Cons
  • Lots of low-hanging fruit that should be addressed but aren't, because new ventures are prioritized.
  • Company values "quick win and progress over perfection." This sounds positive but amounts to tech debt and an unwillingness to bring in new technology where it makes more sense.
  • Below-market pay and pretty closed-fisted with equity. It's hard to get any with the signing offer, and there are no stock refreshers.
  • 401k matching is vested, and the gym subsidy is virtually nonexistent.
  • Doesn't promote from within and seeks middle/upper management from external hires, whose first objective is to make a name for themselves. This results in bad, uniformed decisions.
Advice to Management

Undeniably, there are pain points. Focus on those over the positives during Town Halls. Employees with 3+ years of tenure and those with 2+ years have very different reasons for staying and different motivations for solving a problem.
