Senior Frontend Engineer Interview Experience - United States

Process

I had 5 rounds of interviews, including one with HR. I was given a take-home task, which I completed. The feedback from the panel was positive.

After the take-home task, I had one more round to discuss the implementation. This is where I disliked the team; they "suck" because they asked me to implement the given task in any language or framework. I chose React. In the review meeting, the interviewers had zero knowledge of React and stated they were confused with my implementation.

The worst part was a follow-up question to the task. I explained my solution, noting that we use an exact API contract in my current company, which works exceptionally well. However, they dismissed my solution, stating it was incorrect and that they understood nothing, which was awkward.

Moreover, they seemed to be expecting a "pre-cooked" answer. They showed no respect for the interviewee and lacked the patience to listen to explanations.

Overall, it was a waste of my time.

Questions

I cannot disclose specifics due to an NDA, but the questions were all fairly standard JavaScript queries, not the LeetCode variety.
