Machine Learning Engineer Interview Experience - Los Angeles, California

August 1, 2017
Positive ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The interview process consists of four rounds:

  • Introduction call
  • Technical interview over the phone with a shared computer screen
  • Take-home quiz
  • On-site interview lasting six hours

The interviewer called me 15 minutes late for the introduction call because her previous meeting ran over. While this was acceptable to me, it might not appear professional to others. Additionally, she reduced my interview time from 30 minutes to 15 minutes as she had another interview scheduled immediately after mine.

The technical interview was very good. There are some smart people working there, and the interviewer, Xiangrui Meng, was very polite and understood my answers. This is something I rarely experience.

Questions

Mostly, we discussed my research work. The questions were based on that, followed by one Java program to solve matrix multiplication with a twist.
