Process

I wanted to share my recent onsite interview experience and my impressions of Databricks' culture.

I believe you can get a good sense of a company's culture by observing how they treat their candidates. I went through an onsite interview, which I found to be of average difficulty, and felt I performed well overall.

Immediately following the interviews, the recruiter called and also emailed, stating that the feedback was positive and that I should expect an update within 1-2 days.

However, I never heard back from them. Not only that, they stopped replying to my emails, phone calls, or text messages. (In fact, in the email, I was encouraged to reach out by phone for any questions.)

I also suspect this is not an isolated incident. I have heard from others that Databricks has a tendency to ghost candidates, which I find extremely disrespectful. I would advise them to at least have the courage to send a rejection email.

Overall, my recommendation is to steer clear of this company. I suspect they might treat their employees similarly.
