Coding assessment, phone interviews, final round
Horrible interview experience. I should have looked at reviews before applying.
The engineer who conducted the technical interview was NOT PAYING ATTENTION AT ALL during the interview. I never felt so excluded during an interview before.
When I asked for clarification, the interviewer straight up ignored me. When I tried to engage with the interviewer, they half-heartedly said "ok".
I would not want to work with people like that in a work setting. They are clearly putting 0 effort into the recruitment process.
I finished the interview with 10 minutes left and they rejected me. If they are going to waste my time like this, why bother interviewing?

Pros: The company as a whole is doing well, with good revenue numbers.
The talent bar is generally pretty high, but it's not as good as it once was, and the company is starting to lose top talent.
Cons: - Toxic management and terrible work-life balance.
- Becoming increasingly political, which projects you get to work on, promotions, and performance reviews have been increasingly about who you know.
- Within AI, there's constant project churn, changing roadmaps, and a lack of product vision, leading to very few successful products.
- Substantially decreased refreshers and compensation recently, especially for those who have been there a long time.
- Slow career growth and promotion timelines, and no longer with the increased pay to justify it.
- No longer really innovating or doing anything interesting as a company.
- Still no 401k.

Pros: - Filled with dense knowledge about each facet of growing a company (marketing, sales, engineering, open source, management).
- Always looking to improve and is never satisfied with just being "good" (employees here have a "make-it-the-best" mentality).
- The management really cares about each employee and how he or she is doing at all times.
- Expertise and devotion to Spark alongside Spark's growing adoption really makes it an exciting time to be here.
- Everyone at Databricks is teamwork-minded, so there is a strong culture of helping each other out.
- The company itself is growing fast, but at the same time, it never lowers its bar in hiring, so you can expect every single person to excel in their work.
Cons: - A lot of processes (engineering, hiring, etc.) are still developing.
- Many things still go wrong (i.e., fires), but the team really takes its time to learn from each one of these to make sure that similar occurrences do not happen.
- It may not be a typical 9 to 5 job (a con for people who prefer 9 to 5).
