Process
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks.
One of the best candidate experiences I’ve had. You can genuinely feel that the recruiting team wants you to succeed:
- They support you every step of the way
- Communicate clearly, and always get back to you in a timely manner, no ghosting, no silence
- They also give honest feedback, and whether you make it through or not, you’ll definitely learn something from the process
The interviews were held to GAFAM-level standards, so solid preparation is definitely key.

Pros: There are tons of smart, thoughtful people working at Datadog. The product is complex, so the problems are very interesting. There is always a lot to do and a lot to learn.
Cons: As the company grows, it is normal for priorities to shift toward keeping shareholders and big customers happy. I sometimes think that can hamper innovation, despite ultimately being good for business.
