The interview process at Datadog followed a structure:

• A recruiter conversation
• A first coding interview
• A panel round with two coding interviews, one system design interview, and an experience and values interview.

I had a great experience interviewing with Datadog. The people were extremely professional and very friendly, which helps a lot in a naturally stressful situation. The problems selected were on point and I could see their relationship to the work being done at Datadog. Also, and this is a minor detail, every interviewer asked before the interview if this was still a good time to interview. It's a simple demonstration of care for the candidate that meant a lot.

In the experience and values interview, I was asked (among others) to talk about a time in which I failed.
