Process

The interview process for interns has three steps:

  • Coding interview
  • Take-home project
  • Interview with the hiring manager

The overall experience was very positive. I learned a lot at each stage.

The coding interview was not difficult; it involved standard coding questions. There was also time to discuss the interviewer's work and the product.

The take-home project was a significant investment. I believe it's designed to evaluate work style and assess motivation for the role. Doing it properly takes two full days.

The interview with the hiring manager was a comprehensive discussion about Datadog and the potential team. Genuine interest in the product and company is crucial for success in this interview.
