Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

Fast initial contact. Slow response times on inquiries and follow-up.

The homework to take home was easily 10 hours worth of work, which is way more than I think is reasonable to expect from a working professional and parent. This probably indicates the types of expectations this organization has.

You will be asked to write an essay explaining what you would improve upon the project after having completed it. Unfortunately, I became sick during this process and wasn't able to...

After you've invested 10 hours of talking to these people, they will fire off a prewritten, cold, canned response explaining to you that they want someone with more experience. They could at least let you talk to someone technical and explain yourself through the solution to the code challenge, rather than putting you behind the recruiter wall again, denying you decent feedback as to why your solution to the technical problem wasn't to their liking.
