Applied through the hiring company.
Deel asked me to complete a large home assignment before even speaking to me. I made it and received feedback one week later. There were no bugs in my solution, but they made certain comments about code style which are arguable and a matter of personal taste. The suggested fixes couldn't take more than an hour.
I didn't even get a chance to explain why I implemented certain things in a certain way, and I was rejected.
In their feedback, there wasn't much detail – just one line about each thing they didn't like, without explanation. It looks like I had to guess their preferences without even knowing who would be reviewing my code. I found this very disrespectful.
Questions
I've been provided with the application backbone and an in-memory database. The task was to implement certain API endpoints which involved data aggregation and modification.
