Process

I appeared for an interview at Dell R&D Bangalore. The single line of feedback I received was: "Complete waste of time."

The interview panel seemed unaware of the specific team or position they were hiring for. They mentioned a "big team" but were essentially trying to randomly place candidates within their various team layers.

Furthermore, the interview was scheduled on a weekday, requiring me to take a full day off work. I was initially told the interview would start precisely at 11 am. However, the first round commenced around 11:30 am and concluded at 1 pm. The interviewers scheduled for my second round then went for lunch and I was kept waiting in the reception lobby until approximately 3 pm.

When the interview finally began, I was asked about random topics completely unrelated to my CV.

Advice to the interview panel:

When interviewing senior candidates, please have a clear picture of the position you are hiring for.

Ask questions relevant to the skills required for that specific role.

Refrain from asking entry-level questions and respect candidates' time. We are not freshers; we are employed by similar reputable MNCs.
