Pros: * Flexible work hours when you need them. * Great work/life balance. * Good pay and benefits; in particular, RRSP contribution/match made by Dell is great. * Diverse portfolio - within a product and across products, there are lots of different technologies/projects one can work on. * Intra-company moves are welcomed in general; of course, things may depend on one's state in their current position. * Great work environment (friendly co-workers and managers) and culture; of course, this may depend on what product/engineering team one is working on. This is based on my own experience. * Employee discounts on Dell products (e.g., consumer laptops).

Cons: After the merger, there have been a series of re-orgs (I think as one might expect in this kind of big merger), and some legacy EMC employees have been let go. Things seem to be more stabilized now.

Pros: Flexible work hours. Decent support in terms of technical help.

Cons: The company's work culture, at least in Hyderabad, is in a bad shape. Promotions and appraisals are dependent on your "relationship" with your manager. Not just that, your future is enmeshed with their opinion of you. You may be hard-working and efficient; however, if you have not engaged in the mandatory "bootlicking," you may not survive. Technology-wise, most of it is outdated. They keep changing their organizational structure repeatedly, but their technology is just super outdated.

Pros: Good work place to kickstart career. Vast opportunities for skilled.

Cons: Slow salary growth. Some departments aren't up to date with current IT.
