Software Engineer SD2 Interview Experience - Seattle, Washington

Process

It was okay. They expected someone more in touch with C programming basics and more fundamental concepts. No DSA or system design questions were asked, which is what I had prepared for.

The overall process was pretty quick. The recruiter scheduled a call, and after that, they got back within a few days to schedule an interview.

I had a remote interview with one senior developer. I didn't make it through to the next round, but the recruiter had mentioned the next round would have been a 3-hour interview with:

  • 1 more senior dev (1 hour)
  • 2 more devs (2 hours)

Once this was done, there would have been a managerial round.

Questions

  1. C program: Asked to debug issues. Took me too much time; fresh out of undergrad, I could have done it way quicker. Nonetheless, I was able to debug the code.

  2. Internal working of segfault core dump. No clue. Bombed the interview!
