Dell Services is an organization inside of Dell.
It is an attempt by Dell to emulate a hardware + services model of HP and IBM.
They are well funded and supported by a well-established brand.
There are massive hierarchies and absolutely no projects. People just sit and make PPTs all the time.
Massive hierarchies ensure that there is 200% bureaucracy for every small thing, and nothing ever gets done.
In the organization, for every 1 person who works, there are 10 "coat wearing" executives who just steal PPTs and present them.
Other than hot air, the organization produces nothing.
It's time for a bottoms-up reorganization in the Services Division because it's simply wasting money.
The HR lead the interview, and it was very friendly. Subsequently, I was interviewed by future teammates, which was good because I got to see the team's culture at that time. The final interview was with the hiring manager.
The interview was very smooth. Both interviews I had were panel interviews. Be yourself and it will go great. They really want to know what experience you have and how you can help their team.
I had a small conference call after the coding interview. It was mostly related to basic concepts of programming, but later it moved on to algorithms. I failed because algorithms are not something I am good at, sadly.
