EMC has provided opportunities to advance engineering careers through the development of leading-edge storage products.

Salary plans are a step behind:

• Engineering salaries are partly an "MBO" which is "salary at risk", meaning it won't be paid if things beyond your control don't happen, such as sales goals.
• Raises are subject to downward adjustment for reasons other than personal performance, e.g. promotions for others or the performance of the division.
• The merger with Dell is fomenting sub-standard raises, as Michael Dell has noticed EMC Massachusetts pay scales are higher than Dell Texas-based payscales.

IP and talent are literally walking out of the building. If Dell EMC management is committed to turning this around, they should survey those that resigned in the last year, including early retirees, asking the hard questions.
