Pathetic managers exist in the software industry at Dell. Most of them do not deserve to be in the software industry. They only threaten the engineers. Only the bootlickers can survive there. You will painfully watch others repeatedly taking credit for your work. There are no promotions at all. Your only attraction is the salary offered at the time of joining. After that, you can only dream of getting a decent hike.
Variable pay is another big factor. That is introduced to avoid giving raises to employees. Every time, a manager shamefully says that your performance is not as good as the previous cycle and, because of my consideration, you are still on the team. So, if you have any plans to work in the IT industry, never think of joining Dell.
