Pros

Good compensation Average benefits

Cons

Big business management approach (microscopic choices based on macroscopic view) Antiquated policies, without any means of applying for an exception (3 years between computer refresh, even if a job change requires more computing power) Short attention span (don't fully commit to project, watch it flounder due to lack of support, then cancel because it didn't work) Lip service of Agile development, while going against most principles (Agile acknowledges change & tries to handle with flexibility, while the system locks in choices and makes reaction time glacial)

Advice to Management

Become more modern, not just in words but in deeds. Understand what it means to be Agile.

Understand that pushing for profit on a microscopic level while measuring on a macroscopic level is counterproductive and misleading.

Don't hire someone who does a demonstrably excellent job in non front-and-center projects, which you keep canceling before they are given the opportunity to make a profit, and then lay them off just after they take charge of a project that no one else in the local team could handle (due to their wide-ranging expertise), because you can't find a positive cash flow associated with them.
