Pros

Being in Texas brings benefits, such as the ability to live a better life than someone earning 50% more in another state. This is thanks to lower real estate prices, taxes, and less traffic stress.

Cons

Very small benefits package, very poor 401k. No stock options or stock purchase plans for the big majority.

Employee recognitions are not always done fairly. Grade levels and projects do not necessarily match; a senior employee might be working on a project that a junior one could do as well.

Advice to Management

Employee evaluations should not be performed only by managers. There is too much dependency on what your manager thinks of you; peer feedback should also be taken into consideration.
