Quality Systems Specialist Interview Experience - Boston, Massachusetts

Process

A former colleague of mine referred me for a position internally. I was put in touch with an internal recruiter who conducted a phone interview. Then, they organized an in-person interview, which was facilitated by another employee who arranged travel and hotel accommodations.

I then met who would eventually be my direct manager and my peer colleague, then the V.P. that my manager reported to.

The interview with the direct manager and peer colleague lasted about 1.5 hours and covered organizational structure, department responsibilities, and expected tasks.

The discussion with the V.P. lasted about 30 minutes and focused on conceptual plans for the role and the newly created department, rather than daily expectations.

Questions

We are hiring for this position because we know there is a need for quality and regulatory support for internal product teams (as opposed to providing risk or consulting SME services to external customers), but we don't know what we don't know.

Hence, we're hiring for your position to learn what unrealized gaps there are and to look to you to address and close those gaps. What would be your approach to creating your role and determining what's needed?
