Discord has a clear set of values that are truly implemented throughout the company. These values enable each team to be owners, make great decisions, question the company's direction, learn and help others grow, all while being compassionate for one another.
I'm really impressed.
The company is still early and small, and is figuring out its future destination. This means priorities and objectives may change. If they do, it will be done transparently and with great reasons behind it.
I talked with the Recruiter and had an initial HM call. The call went well, and next steps were outlined. The recruiter mentioned the HC was in flux and never got back.
Recruiter Call This call involved usual behavioral questions, with the exception of a "tell me about a time when you were building something and had to make tradeoffs" question that caught me off guard. Apparently, my answer to this was satisfactory
Overall, not enough context was given during the interview to be successful. Their interview process, the last time I interviewed, was terrible, as it was an unfair take-home test. This goes to show their interview process is still super unpolished.
