A brief HR phone call followed by two stages. At the first stage, I spoke one-on-one with three different people, and the second stage was again one-on-one with the same set of individuals. Overall, five hours of virtual interviews.
This was a very strange experience for me for two reasons.
First, I directly received interview invites from HR with very short notice between receiving the invite and the actual interview dates. This was also without having checked my availability in the first instance. I guess this is a standard practice. Worth mentioning, though, that every time I responded to say I was unavailable, the meetings were promptly rescheduled. I also saw the same job advertisement getting posted afresh during the later stages of my interview process.
Secondly, no feedback! Which is indeed disappointing. Not even to say my application was unsuccessful. I was told I did well in my first stage and hence was proceeded to the next stage. The next stage was with the same set of people, and I was not faced with any tricky questions. I was told I would hear back (latest) in a week's time. I was also told that there were multiple positions for the same role/level. I waited three more weeks for an update and withdrew my application following no updates/silence from Discover. Also, I saw the role being advertised on LinkedIn again, immediately after my interview.
I liked the organization and people I spoke to. Very experienced and thoughtful. I just think the recruitment process needs a lot of improvement, especially on how to engage with candidates. Also, an acknowledgement that candidates invest time for interviews and such experiences does not help attract the best.
