Pros

PTO, paternity leave, and engineers (most of the great engineers are leaving or have left due to management or being underpaid/overworked due to staffing).

Cons

Management listening to engineers on products/roadmaps and staffing teams correctly.

Engineers are overworked.

HR is terrible while trying to apply for other roles internally. I had an HR employee lie to me by telling me my application wasn't considered because you can't skip a level. Then they sent me the HR policy, and the site had a DNS error.

There is no career growth for engineers unless you move teams. Too many systems are running on legacy hypervisors.

Advice to Management

Staff teams correctly according to products and industry standards.

Create jobs and coach career path development instead of focusing so much on Discover Tech Academy.

There are so many resources for upskilling skills, and learning paths should be encouraged by managers knowing the work coming down the pipeline.

Focus on getting off legacy systems that will eventually cause serious security risks.
