Some groups do innovation days/sprints to allow you to try something new outside of your daily work.
Going through a cultural identity crisis. They are trying to become a tech company, rather than just a financial company, but the change process was slow and messy when I left. Some groups are in a better state than others.
Compensation was also not competitive, and annual raises were insultingly low, even when identified as having "exceeds expectations" performance.
Allow more freedom for engineers to provide some direction and priorities, rather than a complete top-down approach.
Also, if you want people to stay, pay them better and find a way to balance out workloads, or people will burn out and leave.
