Pros

25 days of PTO, 30 days of PTO after 5 years.

Cons

Some teams and departments do not require contractors to work on-call for production support. So you end up with contractors that write lazy code without production in mind. Then you (as a Discover employee) are responsible for working on-call and fixing any production issues. You have 15 minutes to hop on a conference call with support teams and probably your manager.

Advice to Management

Improve work-life balance by requiring contractors to share production support with the rest of their team. This will reduce the amount of time developers work on-call and will keep them happy and motivated to work.
