I applied on LinkedIn, and the recruiter and I had an introductory call. We then scheduled a panel interview for the following week.
The recruiter did not keep in touch at all, and did not even inform me that the interview would be a panel with five people.
I met with five team members. The questions were mostly situational, such as "Tell me about a time you had a conflict" or "How do I find this in a system?"
I had more experience with the technology than the team members did, and their questions were quite generic and easy. The team was a bit awkward, but I looked past it. A few people literally did not say anything. Two of the five did not even have their cameras on during the Zoom call, which was a red flag.
A few hours after the interview, I received a rejection from the recruiter stating they were going in a different direction. I was a bit surprised, as I had thought I performed well during the interview.
I politely asked for feedback and closure, but the recruiter ignored my request.
In hindsight, I am somewhat glad I was rejected, as the team seemed off and I do not think it would have been a challenging opportunity.
Good luck to all.
