Process
The process typically begins with a recruiter call, lasting 15-30 minutes.
This is followed by a technical screening interview where they ask questions about your experience and present two very easy coding questions.
I was rejected at this stage. When I asked for feedback about the interview, they never responded.
I found this to be unprofessional and frustrating to reject someone without providing an explanation. I was told that subsequent stages would include a design interview, another coding interview, and a behavioral one.

Pros: Disney is going to grow a lot. Personally, I believe it's going to surpass all of its streaming competitors, especially since it owns other companies like ESPN. There are many fun projects to work on, and we are now entering an era of much growth.
Cons: There are parts of the organization that are better to work for than others. If you would like to join an application development role, I recommend getting into the part of the company that works on client-facing software (e.g., the actual Disney+ app).

A dream job, but also it is a job

Pros: This job is definitely a dream job. I work with smart and nice people, which is rare in an engineering job. Honestly, the pay and perks are great, especially if you work for DSS. Work-life balance is great, as you have set PTO, as well as paid sick time, and 12 holidays (3 floating). During a really hard project, we also got some Fridays off to help us refresh. We worked hard to get that, and Disney rewards the hard work.
Cons: Remember, we go to work to actually work, and that is what you will do. So it isn't always "fun," but I enjoy my job and what I do. I think long gone are the days of the TikTok of "The life of a SWE at Disney" because that is not reality. Work/job will always be that. Once you wrap your mind around that, then things aren't too bad. We currently have a hiring freeze, so a lot of work to be done, but it is better than the opposite and having to do layoffs.
