The environment was a fast-paced Agile work environment that tended to offer minimal support for growing developers. The environment was positive for developers who already had the skills and knowledge to do the work. However, the environment made it difficult for developers to grow their skills. The environment also seemed difficult for junior developers and interns.

Consider an effort to institutionalize the growth of developers. Setting up programs to plan and track growth, both short-term and long-term, is an investment that will have great long-term rewards for both the company and workers. It will also improve employee morale.
