Pros

The pay is good, and the benefits are great. If you need an income, Docusign will provide.

Cons

If you're looking for a place that will support you, help grow your career, or expand your knowledge by learning from the best, this is not the place.

Docusign is facing many problems right now, and very little is being done to address them.

The engineering organization is in a strange state. Teams typically have 9 to 10 developers, with some as large as 15 or more, often juggling multiple projects simultaneously. Silos have formed not only between teams but also within them.

Layoffs have seemingly become a semi-annual occurrence, with sales teams affected in the spring and engineering teams in the fall. Morale appears to be at an all-time low, and the executive leadership team either struggles to inspire confidence or simply doesn't care—it’s hard to tell some days.

Advice to Management

Reorganize engineering teams to be smaller and more focused, using this as an opportunity to promote those who want to move into an engineering manager role.

Group people by location so that the upcoming return to the office has meaning (going into the office just to sit on a Zoom call does not promote collaboration).

Additionally, begin sunsetting features that have either been recreated elsewhere or have low usage.
