I gave a technical screening interview. It had four SQL and one Python questions. I was able to complete three SQL and one Python (O(n)) solution, and I explained my thoughts throughout the interview. However, I was rejected, and the company didn't provide any feedback.
They use HackerRank, and my third SQL query was right in PostgreSQL, but HackerRank only supports MySQL. I got stuck finding a different approach to solve this problem to compile in MySQL and lost time. The interviewer was not helpful at all. He saw my approach and syntax were correct in PostgreSQL, yet waited for me to find a MySQL solution that passed all test cases. Despite solving three questions in SQL and one in Python with all test cases, they rejected me. They are looking for robots, not humans.
There was a Sum(case when attribute is true) question, unions, and a hard SQL question using window functions. There was also a Python LeetCode Easy problem.
