Process
The process started with a recruiter reaching out via email. Responses had to be made via inline email comments, with no actual conversation with a person.
This was followed by three rounds of technical interviews:
- One round on algorithms.
- One round on coding a view from given mocks.
- One round on debugging a sample application.
There was also one round talking to a hiring manager.
Overall, the recruiters were unresponsive, and the tech interviewers seemed unmotivated.

Pros: There were a lot of things that needed to be done, and a ton of opportunities to learn new things and build interesting things.
Cons: We had a lot of churn in the senior director and VP+ roles on the team. This led to lots of changes in direction and burnout.
The biggest negative, I'm an alcoholic and being given feedback that I needed to buy drinks and not be so awkward in those types of settings. That and getting a bottle of wine as a gift. All my individual issues, but it was grating to have to hear that we value mental health, etc.

Pros: DoorDash is setting up an arm of the company in Brazil, so there really is a mix between a very strong creation and expansion environment, combined with all the strength of the parent company in the US.
With this come very good challenges to work with and a set of exceptional professionals to bring this project to life.
The company is providing a lot of support for the growth of the office in Brazil, and the goal is to have 100% Brazilian teams taking care of important parts of the global operation.
The CLT (Consolidação das Leis do Trabalho) + equity hiring generates a very high total compensation, probably in the 95th or even 99th percentile in Brazil.
Cons: As everything is still very incipient, there are things to improve:
* The office (at the moment we are in a WeWork room).
* The health plan (which is good, but could be better).
* More HR support (at the moment, the team from Mexico attends to us).
