Telephone interview experience:
This is based on my own interview experience and the experience of one other person.
Some pointers for the interview:
Usually, these algorithms are easy to implement if you think logically. However, they expect you to memorize and reproduce code that they've seen on some website. So, just memorize the standard version.
I was rejected even after implementing selection sort and bucket sort and passing the test cases, all within 45-50 minutes. The interviewer said everything looked good before ending the interview.
The reason for rejection was code quality. This is standard stuff, and I don't know how anyone can write poor-quality code that works for these algorithms. The interview left a sour taste, and I stopped using DoorDash. It's better to consider an interview with DoorDash as just another mock interview, as they seem to reject without providing any specific reasons.
Finally, please do not post the standard reply to this review, which says something like, "We are constantly working to better our interview process, blah blah blah." It's irritating when you say that and don't take action.
Memorize selection sort, insertion sort, and bucket sort.
The input will have duplicates, so pick bucket sort.
