Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

One manager directly contacted me, and then a recruiter followed up. The recruiter told me that there would be one telephonic interview and then an onsite interview.

The interviewer called and stated he was the manager of one team. He seemed very inexperienced and was emphasizing running the code in CoderPad. Since I completed the first coding question early, he asked another. I almost coded that as well but couldn't run it within the time range.

The recruiter called me and asked about the next telephonic interview. The feedback was that my "debugging" skill was not up to par based on the previous round.

I decided against it after thinking for some time, as I realized most managers were inexperienced and from the same college as the CEO.

Questions

I don't understand why they can't ask an experienced person to take interviews who can understand code and not solely rely on "running" the program.
