Process

  1. Email from recruiter
  2. Phone call with recruiter
  3. Phone call with hiring manager (Not an interview, to discuss CV and skills)
  4. Coding phone round (Can ask time to prepare)

The interview process with Dropbox was a pleasant experience. The interviewer was not condescending, as I have experienced with a few companies in the past. The interviewer will make it an interactive process and will guide the way to reach the solution to the coding problem as they would expect.

The process leading to the interview will not mention the coding round will be focused on the job description, rather than a traditional coding interview focused on CS fundamentals.

Sys admin/network engineers should know the libraries used for file handling, like the os module in Python. They should require less complex data structure/algorithm knowledge, but more of file handling, file manipulation, Linux CLI, and other modules of their programming language of choice.

I got rejected after the phone round. I didn't brush up on the Python modules.
