Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - Canada

Process

The interview process consists of an online assessment, followed by a recruiter call, and a two-part onsite interview (three interviews each).

You only proceed to day two of the onsite if you performed well on day one. After that, you move to the hiring committee if you did well in part two.

The recruiters at this company are extremely dishonest. My recruiter was gaslighting and misleading me into believing I was doing well and that an offer was imminent, but I was rejected after a long wait. The hiring manager was equally two-faced and duplicitous.

I heard all of the following from my recruiter:

  • "Feedback looks great, congrats!!"
  • "Feedback looks positive! You'll hear from us early next week!"

And from the hiring manager during interviews:

  • "We need someone with your skills and background!"
  • "We will reach back to you soon!"

Only to find out two weeks later, after no communication, that the team was "weighing their options" and that "concerns/feedback was highlighted at the committee." This translates to them having chosen someone else and keeping me "warm" with dishonest misinformation.
