Pros: - Very, very smart people (best engineering team in the valley!) - Lots of opportunity to improve the product - Very good at reacting quickly and nimbly to changes in market dynamics, etc.

Cons: - Growing this fast incurs a lot of growing pains (systems consistently break and then you have to fix them). - At times our focus is a little scattered.

Pros: The culture is great. The people at Dropbox really care about doing right by their users, all the way to the very top, and it shows. You can sit down at a random table at lunch, introduce yourself, and meet some new people. And it's great that Dropbox's products make money by selling the product to the users -- it's not an advertising or data mining business model where there's a strong tension between what the users want and what the customers want. This means that while working at Dropbox, you can really focus on just making the best experience possible on products that are enormously popular. While Dropbox isn't really a startup anymore, the office environment is pretty fun, and it feels like they've done an excellent job of scaling up the business while still keeping a great culture. This wasn't the case a couple years ago, but Dropbox today is very family-friendly, a huge supporter of women in engineering, and an all-around great place to work.

Cons: Dropbox offers less vacation time than many of the other hot companies in the valley (though it offers more than the Oracles and Ciscos of the world).

Pros: Good opportunities to create something which will have a direct impact on 175 million people. Relatively young average age of co-workers. Most of them are quite cool people, not standard nerds. You can hang out with Guido (creator of Python) during breakfast, who has an awesome sense of humor. Staff spends a lot of time together. Great free food. The tuck shop is the best; I wish they worked on weekends. Realizing your own ideas. Hackweeks twice a year. Flat organization structure. Just two layers between intern and CEO, so it's easy to reach your voice to top management. The CEO sits among other employees and is a great guy.

Cons: Most people work more than 40 hours a week. It's normal for a startup like Dropbox, but if you have a family, it can be a problem. Office is near AT&T Park, so streets, restaurants, and shops are crowded during matches. Probably, you will be very demotivated after you leave this company.
