About two weeks later, after total silence, I received an email from an HR representative. I was sent a link to an online code editor exercise.
The email contained a link to an online code editor, such as Codility, where a pre-fabricated test was ready. When I pressed the button, I would have 90 minutes to finish the tasks.
Questions
I expected to find a bunch of smaller tasks, but instead found one big one: Implement a text editor.

Pros: Dropbox was incredibly supportive during COVID and when we had a baby. I was able to work reduced and flexible hours.
This flexibility has been supported by my manager, peers, and HR.
I get to have a good amount of independence; I'm encouraged to make decisions and own the planning and execution of my work streams. I get to work on a project that I like.
Cons: Nothing for this stage of my career. It's been great.

Pros: - I have never had trouble maintaining my work/life balance.
- I have been encouraged to take my time learning things well, even when it wouldn't immediately benefit my team.
- Has a respectable engineering review process for building new systems, so they are seldom totally harebrained (though they've overhauled this process a couple of times, so this might be out of date).
Cons: - Frequent re-orgs make it hard to know who's in charge of what.
- Leans heavily towards building its own systems rather than purchasing them or using OSS.
- High-level "company goals"-type communications tend to sound completely meaningless to me.
