Reached out via an external job recruiting site.
Received a call to discuss various positions at Dropbox, including a brief description and an overview of the interview process.
Experienced nearly a week of silence with little to no communication. This seems to be a common issue with Dropbox HR, based on reviews on Glassdoor and Blind.
Received a CodeSignal challenge link via Dropbox email, along with preparation advice (e.g., "Can you do a LeetCode hard question in under an hour?"). I was told that upon completion, the recruiter would reach out within 48 hours.
The CodeSignal problem involved a 10-stage, interconnected challenge. For a 1-hour-and-10-minute coding challenge, there was a lot to absorb regarding requirements, various approaches, and uncertainty due to ambiguous descriptions and examples that didn't address all edge cases. It was unclear what was being evaluated given the incredibly tight time constraint; it's suspected that passing test cases was the primary metric.
Received a rejection email three business days later. Despite the prior suggestion that feedback would be provided, none was included regarding the evaluation.
Design and implement 10 related features in 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Just focus on speed and test completion.
I highly doubt they are looking at any other metric at this stage.
