Process

One phone interview + one onsite interview.

For the phone interview, I met the "Duplicate Files" problem: given a path, find all duplicate files under this path. Don't forget to use hashing.

For the onsite interview: one technical round + lunch + demo show + two technical interviews.

Dropbox: A Fantastic Place to Work

Software Engineer • Current Employee

San Francisco, California, United States

January 30, 2015

Pros: Dropbox is a zany, high-velocity, awesomely creative, best-food-in-town, friendly place to work. I really enjoy: * Great engineering talent * Well-reasoned decisions * High-end restaurant-quality food * A multitude of perks * Creative projects * Great transparency

Cons: There are still a lot of organizational growing pains. Dropbox still hasn't quite figured out how to do peer reviews well, the office is a little crowded, and so on. This is certainly all going to be resolved in time. Everyone here has good intentions.

Great culture and WLB

Software Engineer • Current Employee

San Francisco, California, United States

Pros: Great culture and WLB. You can feel the company is really caring about its employees. Great perks: We offer $1750/quarter for reimbursement for everything, and we get 1 day of company PTO per month.

Cons: Growth rate is slowing down now, and not many interesting projects are going on. Company is cutting some great perks forever, such as the awesome office and cafe.
