I received an HR call following an open event conducted at the company. HR stated the interview would be 90 minutes and involve a virtual whiteboard with coding. The first interviewer called and asked basic questions regarding HTML and JavaScript. I offered to show him some of my online code samples, but he refused, saying that coding was only part of the in-person interview (though HR had indicated this interview would specifically include coding). It felt as though they were asking questions from a pre-determined question bank. He ended the call after 30 minutes, saying someone would call me soon. I assumed it was HR, but another interviewer called instead. He spoke in almost the same manner. There was no discussion about the company or its operations. He reviewed my code sample and asked about its utility. Both interviewers used speakerphone, resulting in very low audio (though the first interviewer rectified this midway). Later, HR called me to inform me that I was not selected. This outcome was expected.
