Process

First, I had a call with the recruiter about the position. After that, they sent me an NDA.

The first interview was a tech screening with the manager and a developer from the team of the open position. They asked me some questions about my past experiences.

There was one thing that bothered me. When I mentioned some tools and technologies, I stated that I used them as a regular user and didn't know the full details and internals. They continued asking deep knowledge questions about these topics.

After the tech screen, they sent me a take-home assignment (THA), which they expected me to finish in five days. I completed and sent it to them.

Several days later, the recruiter contacted me for the next interview. It was a system design interview, attended by two developers from two other teams. The discussion topic was significantly related to the working area of the position. In the end, they also asked two easy LeetCode questions.

Several days later, the recruiter contacted me for the final step: a culture fit interview. A product manager and a team lead from the team of the open position attended. It was an ordinary culture fit interview.

At some point, I understood that they didn't like my answers. In the final moments of the interview, the team lead suddenly shared their screen and started talking about my THA. The summary was that my code was poorly written and that I am not a good software developer. I was surprised, questioning why they proceeded with two more interviews if my THA was considered terrible.

Two days later, I received a rejection email. I asked for feedback, but of course, there was no response.

I interviewed six different people; only two of them were reasonable and friendly.
