Pros: eCommerce giant. As a technologist, an excellent core stack to start digging into. Full of opportunities in eCommerce. Good paymaster. Leadership has gone through an overhaul and has become more people-centric.

Cons: Inertia. The pace with which features and initiatives move. Synergy among business units.

Pros: This is one of the best places to work for. This is one of those places where you feel that the work you do really affects the world. The feedback from the community on any product the company launches is quick, ruthless, and honest. This gives me satisfaction and acts as a barometer to test where the company is going. You have the independence to choose how and what you want to work on. The company provides adequate training if you ever wish to try a different role. It has good benefits. The management is really understanding, and they are willing to work out what's best for both you and the company.

Cons: Not many, I would say. Sometimes, only sometimes we are late to the game. I think with the new changes around the company, this is not at all a problem anymore.

Pros: Pay is okay, not great, but not bad. Culture and peers are generally nice to work with. Some very smart people, in select groups. Some interesting products in terms of development of the eBay site.

Cons: Outsource too much. Hire a lot of people who are not creative, just to get the project done. Very little focus on the stability of the system and the quality of code. Very, very, very bad build and release system, all built in-house. Business units change their minds very often as to what they want, making for very low-quality sites.
