I interviewed for a couple of positions through recruiters and had a mixed experience.
Position 1: The interviewers were very friendly and welcoming. I likely failed due to my own small mistakes in the system design part, but the entire process was seamless. The feedback part was lengthy, and I had to follow up multiple times to learn I was not selected.
Position 2: This was the real experience. I applied for the second position, cleared the phone screen and coding interview, and was called onsite.
It was a 5-6 round onsite. In the first round, there was a mix-up of rooms, and we didn't find a booked room. Is that how we plan at eBay?
However, the interviews started with typical LeetCode problems. I agree I didn't give my best answers, but the interviewers? They were unclear about the cross-questions I asked. One interviewer walked in 20 minutes late, with his lunch in hand. He was rude with his questions, as if he wanted to prove his superiority. "Why did your current client not convert you?" Is that a question to be asked here?
He himself was unclear about the design question asked and made faces during cross-questions. Really?
Another interviewer started working on his laptop and gave no response to what I was doing on the whiteboard.
I felt like walking out, but I kept my cool and finished the horrible experience somehow. They still haven't had the politeness to provide feedback.
NDA, so cannot disclose.
Leetcode medium to hard.
