Horrible experience, no streamlined process, unprofessionalism.
I was contacted by a recruiter after an initial call. The recruiter didn't contact me for three weeks. I was then contacted by a hiring manager, and one telephonic screening round was scheduled. Ten minutes after the screening round, the manager called me and said they wanted to have me come onsite. Since I was actively interviewing, I aligned all my interviews. eBay even gave me a free pass, and no flight booking was required. However, they provided no food or transport reimbursement. Worse, they booked a place for me but didn't pay for it. I was surprised they expected me to pay for the hotel.
On the same day, I informed them that I was in a hurry for a response. I gave the interview on Friday, and on Tuesday, one of the HR contacted me saying he had received an initial positive response and was waiting for other responses. Meanwhile, he wanted to start the compensation approval process so they could roll out an offer within 24-48 hours.
Here's when the limit was reached. I used to email them every morning asking for updates, and they would simply say, "Nothing." This continued for two weeks. I interviewed with two other companies after interviewing with them, and they rolled out their offers, but eBay still had nothing.
After two weeks, I emailed them asking for an update, and they sent me a rejection email.
There should be something to regulate this kind of behavior from companies like eBay. They should behave professionally and take responsibility to respond in time. My interview went well, but they still sent me a rejection email after two weeks. If it was a 'no,' they could have said so earlier. First, they said it was positive, started discussing salary, and then said no. (I already had an offer with the salary I quoted to them).
LeetCode, no creativity except 1 interviewer.
