Process

I put my resume into a tech conference database and was contacted by eBay.

First, I was invited to take an online HackerRank challenge by recruiters.

After a few weeks, I got a callback for an in-person technical interview during the tech conference.

I received a call with a job offer the next day!

It took several weeks to get a specific team to offer me a position, though, which I thought was odd.

Pros: Reasonable expectations and good work-life balance. I wasn't asked or expected to work more than 40 hours per week. It didn't seem like any of the full-time people on my team put in more than 40. My manager and team were chill and gave me freedom when I asked for it and guidance when I asked for it. My team was knowledgeable and very helpful. They had the time to actually help me if I was stuck or needed advice.

Cons: I think quality depends on the team. I lucked out, but make sure you get a positive vibe from your hiring manager while interviewing. Some other interns mentioned that they didn't start programming until 4 weeks into their internship.

Pros: The teammates are all mature and experienced engineers. The scrum meeting is efficient. There are no useless meetings to bother your work.

Cons: The process etc. are all mature. So far, I don't see much I can do to make a difference in a big scope.
