Good pay, above market rate for sure, considering the lack of work you have to do. Good benefits too.
Reorgs - reorgs take place yearly. The current reorg has everyone reporting into the US. The management here in the US lacks the expertise in local markets, and it’s been apparent for months now, but no one is doing anything about it. I’ve already seen 5 reorgs in 5 years.
As well as this, the US are travelling monthly to the UK, which results in nothing accept a good dinner and social.
Lack of innovation in product would suggest this is down to the fact the company has people who have been here for 10 years. This would suggest cutting these people first. Every year in Glint, it’s highlighted the lack of career progression; only the select few get promoted.
The product hasn’t changed since 2005. So what have people done who have been at the company for 10 years?
Re hires - too many rehires from eBay, which everyone finds strange.
Operating Costs
Every international company is cutting jobs or freezing or cutting pay. eBay is not. There is a fear internally that more job cuts should happen. I agree: the majority of people don’t actually do work. You have four people doing the same role, so why don’t you look at saving cost?
I think it’s a matter of time before the CEO and leadership changes. I don’t understand how every company and their dog on Wall Street is looking at saving money, but eBay isn’t, despite declining revenues.
